demonstrative (set I adjectival demonstrative)
  1. (modifying something remote/vague in time or place or something that the speaker is not sure exists): a, any, some
    • čad kʷi pišpiš.
    Where is there a cat?
  2. (when asking for information the speaker does not know): a, the, some
    • gʷat kʷi adsdaʔ.
    What is your name? (literally) Who are you called?

usage notes: Used when referring to something that is vague or remote in time or location, or when there is a doubt as to the existence of the thing being discussed.
usage notes: In casual speech, "kʷi" followed by the prefix ad often becomes the single syllable "kʷad".
